I have been trying to store away little mental notes lately of things that make me wonder...
Some are of people that just make me wonder...
Some of geographical things that just make me wonder...
Things about money...now that makes many just wonder...
Most of these wonders stem from being around thousands of young college people. I am an old college person...25yrs old is very old when it comes to having classes with 21 year olds.
I sit here in this coffee shop and wonder....why is it that these young people seem so selfish. Not only selfish- but just downright unobervant and uncaring about anything around them. There are about 14 tables in this place. They are small yes, but something is better than nothing. about 6 college students have consolidated and taken TWO tables for thier one self. There are people who are sitting at chairs without tables...and no one will offer a table...I guess they need it to rest their ipod upon.
I think about the student section of which I am part of every home football game. Over 13,000 strong. A chance to be one of the loudest and most uproarious places in the Big Ten. Our students are more concerned with being involved in the profanity laced chants that originate from classy traditions that students past set. It has been a huge issue all year, and is honestly embarrassing. These people feel the need to say the F word more than the need to be honored by thier younger siblings and parents.
I think of a situation from which I will name no names. This situation isnt disturbing- just a point of view type of observation. I know someone who recently had thier car blow up. Yes blow up- no more go. This person and thier family have laughed about it for the most part. Im not saying that with an overtone of being secretly annoyed or anything, but what a difference from when my family had car troubles. A new car is already in order for this person, and honestly it is not without sacrifice or anything like that- but just an attitude of positivity. My family put a lock down on the change in the couch cushions if THE car needed an oil change. This is a whole new car- and they laugh more than get upset.
I wonder why people from New York, or from the Northeast for that matter- think that they are the fuel that rotates the earth. I am very involved in geography here at MSU, and realize the enormous impact the that Northeast region has on this country- yet it seems in something as simple as baseball the Yankees are being talked about more than the teams still in the Playoffs. The idea of a manager getting fired is more important to media outlets than a once in a lifetime- maybe once in history thing like a Colorado Rockies 20-1 run (as of right now).
Anyhow- more to come at a later date...
Studying takes over!
