CAESARLAND!!!

I love irony. It keeps things interesting all the time. I find irony where it isn't, I look for it and hope to find it sometimes. Most of the time irony is what puts me into my high gear of deeper thinking.

Today was a perfect example. I took one of my clients, ya ok, I'm talkin about a little kid, but a client nonetheless, to a place called Caesarland. This is like Heavens Little Caesar's. It really is a Little Caesar's, but add on an arcade and Jungle Gym type thing. Kids love it obviously. This place sells beer! I'm up at the counter ordering pizza and tokens for games, and notice they have beer on tap! Are you kidding me!? I look around this place, which a pretty big complex where 95% of the patrons are 12 years old or younger. I started thinking of the irony with this. Why would people bring thier kids here just to be able to have a beer. It kinda hit me that some parents would literally consider this type of place unbearable, but hey at least they have some brew. Hmmm that should make it easier to put up with all of this screaming, crying, begging and so on.

That was part of the irony. About 2 minutes after I realize I am zoned out to this place due to my overdrive of thought, a young mother comes in with 3 youngsters. This mom was a paralytic. She was obviously stricken to the wheelchair she sat in. Her kids where far from little angels, but the mother was as patient as could be. Talk about irony. Many parents bitch and moan about taking kids to do things that allow them to be kids. They hate that they aren't entertained as well. Then there is a place like this that sells those grumpy ass parents beer to make it all ok. This lady, by herself, comes in and takes on the challenge of 3 little ones and can't even walk. She had the biggest smile on her face. I wanted to cry. Seriously, people are always praising me for being able to be so patient and "so good" with kids...it just blows my mind to think of all the irony involved in my 3 hours at Caesarland today. And people wonder why thier kids are a mess...
